About the client: ST Kinetics is the land systems and specialty vehicles arm of ST Engineering with 50 years of engineering expertise. They have 5,000 employees worldwide and revenues of $1.3b in FY2016, ST Kinetics delivers products and solutions to end users in more than 40 countries around the world.

Client Challenge: The client server application was facing network congestion – needed migration to a fully web based solution. Moreover the client needed the following.

  • More robust workflow implementation.
  • Better user experience and rich user interface.
  • Better dashboard reporting for visibility.
  • Enhanced role based function access.
  • An assignment based course curriculum.

The Solution Proposed: iLearnAhead, an LMS solution with the following features was implemented.

  • Learner Portal with rich interface that allows easy browsing of available courses and registration.
  • Online submission of assignments and assessment.
  • Online certification like training certification, certification of participation, certification of achievement etc.
  • Backend administrative function to manage & schedule courses.
  • Function to perform bulk registration for a course.
  • Monitoring of learners’ progress and assessment results.
  • Flexible reporting module.

The Implementation

  • All the base features from iLearnAhead were added and the layout was customized according to the functional requirements of customer needs.
  • Created the learning journey path for better understanding and requirement confirmation.
  • A wireframe was built for quick design approval.
  • Sample course content was taken to analyze the course structure and prototype.

Treading on a very tight timeline, the project was completed and launched according to schedule.

Results: The ST Kinetic Training team overcome the challenges of limitations, now able to schedule unlimited number of courses in parallel. Also, by using multiple training managers who handle various courses, the efficiency and productivity increased. The reporting capabilities are much better which gives a snapshot of measurement of effectiveness of the training activities. The accountability is increased.
