Job Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned professional with a minimum of 8 years of hands-on configuration/system administrator experience in Kronos (version 8.1 or greater) to provide comprehensive application support for the Kronos Cloud platform—a product of UKG. You will handle system configuration (including WIM), troubleshoot user requests, resolve system and data issues, perform routine maintenance, maintain error logs, test system changes, prepare design specifications and test scripts, load data, and generate reports with a special focus on system configuration.

Key Responsibilities:

Application Support & System Administration:

• Manage and support the Kronos Cloud platform by handling all system configuration, troubleshooting user issues, resolving data and interface errors, and maintaining error logs.
• Perform routine system maintenance, test system changes, and prepare design specifications and test scripts.

Software Development & Integration:

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable software applications and services for UKG’s suite of workforce management solutions.
• Write clean, efficient, and reusable code in languages such as Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript, depending on project needs.
• Work with UKG Kronos APIs and other integration points to enable data exchange and business workflows, and assist in maintaining existing integrations.

Collaboration & Agile Processes:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including product managers, quality engineers, and UI/UX designers—to define product features and deliver new functionality.
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle (design, implementation, testing, deployment) and adhere to Agile practices (sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives).
• Contribute to technical specifications, design documentation, and ensure compliance with internal standards and security best practices.

Continuous Improvement:

• Troubleshoot technical issues, debug code, and enhance application performance.
• Stay updated with emerging integration technologies and best practices to continuously improve the efficiency, scalability, and maintainability of integrations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience in software development with expertise in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Java, C#, Python, JavaScript).
• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
• Experience with web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and RESTful APIs.
• Understanding of modern software frameworks and libraries (e.g., React, Angular, Spring, .NET) and object-oriented programming (OOP) principles.
• Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases, including data modelling and query optimisation.
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerisation tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and version control (Git) is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with microservices architecture and service-oriented design.
• Knowledge of integrating third-party APIs and enterprise systems.
• Understanding of security best practices in software development and experience with performance optimisation and scaling of enterprise applications.
